Baked Fish with Black Pepper (Machhi Kali Mirch)

Healthy fish recipe. Use fish of your choice though I prefer any white fish. Prep time includes marinating.

Ingredients

1 pound fish fillets
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Directions

  1. Season fillets on both sides with salt, turmeric, cumin, pepper and garlic.
  2. Set aside to marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Oil a large baking dish and add fillets in a single layer. Sprinkle any leftover seasoning over the fillets.
  4. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes at 400F, until flaky.
  5. Serve with a sprinkle of lemon juice.
