Bread Besan Bajji (Fried Snack)

Bajji’s are often made with onion or potato but this is a simple alternative made with leftover bread that you can make and enjoy anytime.

Ingredients

4 slices of bread
1 cup of channa dal (substitute yellow split peas or chick peas)
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp. chilli powder
1/4 tsp. coriander powder
Salt, to taste
Vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. Combine channa dal with small amount of water and then add salt, chilli, coriander and mix well.
  2. Cut each slide of bread into four sections and dip each piece into the channa dal paste.
  3. Fry in vegetable oil over medium heat until a nice golden color.
  4. Serve with your favorite sauce, hot or otherwise.
