Ingredients

1/2 cup besan (chickpea flour)
5 oz. warm water
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garam masala
paprika (optional)
1 small onion, sliced thick
1 potato, cubed
A few spinach leaves
Oil for deep frying

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour and 1/2 the water, stirring to form a thick batter. Gradually add the remaining water and continue mixing.
  2. Add salt, pepper and garam masala to the dough and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Dip the vegetables in the batter and deep
  5. fry until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot.
