9 oz. whole red peppers
9 oz. coriander seeds
8 oz. toor dal (yellow lentils)
8 oz. gram dal (substitute chick peas)
1 oz. whole black peppers
Pinch asafetida


  1. In a skillet, dry roast each ingredient until they become aromatic.
  2. Allow to cool, add asafetida, then grind in a spice grinder (or a clean coffee grinder).
